Nights of Mykonos
In this series, I painted the taste of summer — the way light touches fruit, the way color ripens in silence.
The Cyclades in August are full of scent and stillness: melons cut open in the heat, figs resting in shade, a table waiting under the slow hum of air.
These paintings are small meditations on abundance and simplicity on how sweetness comes from waiting, from warmth, from sun. Every fruit is a vessel of light, every color a memory of the sea and the dry wind.
I worked with wet-on-wet watercolor to let the pigments breathe and move like summer air, and with dry brush to hold the textures of wood, fruit, and woven cloth.
Each image is a pause — a quiet moment before the taste, when the world is full of color and time stands still in brightness.
